** F.A.S **

The definition of FAS is a child that is born with a deformity due to their mother's alcoholism during their pregnancy.  Symptoms that a child with FAS suffer from is behavioral problems, clumsiness, stunted growth, mental disability and disfigurement.  The children with FAS do not look like regular children without FAS do.  The FAS children look like their bodies were underdeveloped and throughout their lives the children will slowly develop.  My reaction to this article was shock after viewing the photographs of the children.  I felt sick to my stomach knowing that people in this world could care less about an innocent child that is their own.  I believe we can lower FAS rates by creating a type of scanner or breathalyzer that is required every hour and alerts the social security and government when the pregnant mother has been drinking so they can protect her and get rid of the alcohol.
