A strategy that I use frequently in my life is to self-handicap myself before preforming activities that I have not done before. An example would be before I participated in archery at a camp, I said that I would "suck" out loud. Another strategy that I use is ingratiation when speaking with an employer or neighbor that I don't usually see that often. Another strategy I use but not very often is "basking in self glory" because I only use the strategy when winning a medal for something I have been working extremely hard for such as sports or a hobby. Rarely I self-promote myself about certain things because I like keeping to myself unless someone questions me and then I will open up to the person and tell them whatever they ask me. Personally, I believe that it is not correct to self-promote all of the time. In my case, every single time I used one of my tactics they worked and I usually got what I wanted whether it was a confidence boost or a warning if I was not going to succeed.
