Ages and Stages Fifth Entry

Deja Vu is an odd sensation that occurs when one feels that they have already been in a situation or place before despite never being there.  Personally, deja vu occurs once every two weeks for me.  An example is when I was a child, I would play hockey and I had a dream that I was skating across the ice and was knocked over by some force and as I slowly got up every single player stared at me.  I could not see any logos on jerseys nor could I see faces of the players.  This dream occurred when I was twelve years old.  Three years later,  I was skating across the ice and realized that deja vu was about to happen.  I put the thought quickly out of my head and turned when I collided with a player and was knocked to the ice.  As I got up the dream and the current situation came together as one and I was being stared at by every single person in the arena.  I skated towards the bench when my coach informed me that my nose was split open and I needed stitches.  For the next ten minutes I was astonished at what had occurred.  This "buried memory" (Anne Cleary, 2012) now came to focus through my clouded mind and this was the reason I felt this deja vu.
